e-mail addresses automatically delete by opening a contact

When I open a contact, the e-mail address of that contact disappears
When closing the contact I am asked to save the changes, which
answered with no.
When I choose an e-mail address over the "send to" button, the designe
named appears, but when I finally want to send the mail, it tells m
the contact has no e-mail address.
I already uninstalled and reinstalled the office package, repaired th
.pst file and imported actually a backup .pst file.
The problem still occures.

What steps lead up to this problem? Were there errors in the PST?
If you create a new Contact, will its email address persist?

Actually, it let me save the e-mail address, but the name, adress,
phone,.. is not in the field it supposed to be. For instance the "save
as" name appears in the field of e-mail 2.

Still wondering what happened to get you to this point. Are you sure this
PST file had no errors? Have your tried creating a new PST file?
