e-mail config keeps changing

Using POP3 - system automatically replaces incoming server
name to 'localhost' and changes my e-mail name by
adding 'mail.bellsouth.net'. When this happens - can't
receive e-mails - I have to reset each time. Any idea why
the system automatically writes this garbage into my e-
mail account. Does not do it always - maybe 50%.

Your anti-virus or anti-spam software is doing this. See if there's an
update to it that doesn't have this problem.
