E-mail data type

Is it possible to assign a e-mail data type to a table
field?

You can use the Hyperlink data type and then prefix the
entry with 'mailto:'.

Not that I know of. Of course, you can always just store it
in a text field and then use the SendObject command to
generate the email through code that pulls the address from
the text field.
