E-Mail Delete After 11.2 Service Pack

N

Nit

My e-mails are gone after updating to 11.2! This includes e-mail from
a POP account as well as valuable e-mails that I had moved off-line
from an IMAP server. They are propbably somewhere on my harddrive
still and the update probably made Entourage loose track of them.
Please help!

Is it just your e-mails, or has the other data (address book, calendar,
etc.) also disappeared? If that is the case, try switching to another
Entourage identity: go to Entourage>Switch Identity, and in the window that
shows up, there should now be two entries, one of which is your old identity
("Main Identity", in case you have not manually renamed it). Select it, and
your data should be back again. By the way, if you haven't applied any
changes to the new identity, you might as well delete that one; just make
sure you don't delete YOUR identity.
By the way, your Entourage data is stored in ~/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Office 2004 Identities. Backing up that folder will prevent ugly
situations like the one you're currently dealing with, as you will always
have a backup file from which you can restore your data.

Called tech support. They told me to rebuild my database and that did
the trick. Hold alt/option and click on the entourage icon to bring up
the dialog box to allow you to do so.
