E-mail from word 97

I had to format HD and download again word 97.
However, I forgot how to send e-mails from toolbar, as the E-mail icon is
dimmed
Can someone guide me in how to restore the icon and start to e-mail from
inside word 97 ??

Appreciated your attention.
However File>Send to, have only Fax Recipient and Power Point alternatives.
Thats the reason the e-mail icon is dimmed in toolbar.
Any other hint ??

Have you installed Outlook and configured your mail
accounts?

I have decided not to install Outlook 97, as I use Outlook Express.
Is it mandatory that I install Outlook to have access to e-mail within word
97 ??

Yes - it sets the MAPI connection. You can then change your default mail
handler back from Outlook to Express.

However, I am a bit stupid and do not know how to change handler from
Outlook 97 to Express.
Can you enlight me step by step please, otherwise feel I cud make some
nonsense ?/
