E-mail image repeats in Reading Pane only

In an e-newsletter I sent (built in a table), the header image in the top
cell repeats up to four times if you view the newsletter in the reading pane
in Outlook 2003, but when you open the e-mail separately, it is fine. I can't
figure out what's going on - any ideas?
