e-mail message in Outlook 2002, it opens in a minimized view

When I open an e-mail message in Outlook 2002, it opens in a minimized view.
If you click the Maximize button, the message window resizes to a full-screen
view, but Outlook does not save the view for subsequent windows. Does not
allow you to resize the window. It seems the the "Normal" window size has
gone to zero and I cannot restore it. Anyone have a solution?
