E-Mail over 2MB hang in outbox

When I try to send an E-Mail that is 2MB or more in size, the message hangs
in my outbox and continually re-sends the e-mail to all adressees. The last
occurrence resulted in a friend getting over 150 e-mails in a 10 hour period.
the only way I can stop it is to click on the outbox item and "Move" it to
my inbox and delete it. I need to be able to send larger files. Please help
me identify the setting/limit or whatever that is causing this.

You are scanning your emails. Disable the email scanning feature by uninstalling
your Anti Virus and then re-installing it without the email integration (scanning)
option.
