e-mail reminder from calendar to my e-mail inbox

I have office 2000. When I had verizon dsl I was able to get a reminder sent
from my outlook calendar to my e-mail inbox. I recently switched to a cable
hookup and have lost the ability to get those reminders. I've really come to
depend on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
