e-mail takes too long to send

When I send e-mail from Outlook it takes way too long and
the mail just sits in the outbox....if I try to send a
mail with attachemnts it might not go at all. I do not
have this problem in outlook express, just outlook. I use
two accounts.....hotmail and the one listed here. I have
checked the setings but I can't see anything wrong. Why
would the e-mail just sit there? When I show the details
of the send it will show both accounts sending and one of
the accounts will often arror out (hotmail) while the
other account keeps processing tasks over and
over......can you help?
