E-mailed contacts clump into one record when moved

I'm using Windows XP and Outlook 2003. Someone e-mailed me a few dozen
contacts which appear individually as vcards in the body of the e-mail. (From
the look of the vcards the sender used Outlook 2000.)

The problem I'm having is when I move these vcards into my Contacts folder.
If I select them all and use drag and drop, all of the vcards appear in the
comments section of a single record. (I can drag and drop these individually
and they will appear as separate contacts, but there are too many to make
this a practical fix.)

How can I move these vcards into my Contacts folder simultaneously and
subsequently have individual records? I would prefer to have these contacts
in my root Contacts folder (I don't want to create a separate PST or
subfolder). Thank you for your time.

You've already answered your own question: You can't. They need to be handled individually.
