E-mailing in Word

In your browser, select the desired program as the default email client. In
Internet Explorer, this is Tools | Internet Options | Programs (also
accessible through Control Panel | Internet Options).

That is set correctly, but when I go through the process of sending the doc,
it tries to send through a program that is no longer there - NOT the one set
for default.

I have it set for SBC Yahoo!, but it keeps reverting to Eudora - which I had
at one point, but has since been removed.

I am using Firefox for my browser and don't have Internet Explorer on my
machine.

How do I set my default email client so I can send a word document from
word as an attachment in Outlook? I don't want to have to save it and then
go to Outlook and clip it onto my message.

When I click in Word on send to I get this message.

"Log on failed: You must log on to Microsoft Exchange to access your Address
Book."

You can't NOT have Internet Explorer on your machine. What do you think the
big hullaballoo with Bill Gates was about? Try Start-->Programs...

I too am getting the following error:

"Log on failed: You must log on to Microsoft Exchange to access your Address
Book."

My HTML Editor is Notepad, and my Email and Newsgroups are both set to
GroupWise (v7. Going away next year).

I've looked into http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918792 , and the registry
settings are all ok. And, I am trying to send a '.docx' file.

Oddly, a handful of customers are able to send from within Word ok with the
same internet properties as above. Furthermore, they can send '.doc' files as
well. No one has Outlook 2007, but rather OE is installed with Outlook
disabled in Windows Components. This seems to flow against the grain of some
of the other threads. They get a popup prompting to 'Choose a Profile' upon
which they choose GroupWise, and their good to go.

We're using Dell GX740's with XPSP2. Not sure what else to try?
