E-Mailing Reports EXACTLY as they appear

Hello Everyone,

I am having a strange problem.

I have a form generate a single vertical report for the information in it.
It's usually only one page long.

The report is all set up to a specific layout, with images and grids and
lines.

Now everytime I choose the option of sending it to someone's email, access
prompts me with a couple options:
I can choose from different types of files: HTML, Rich Text, Excel, etc.
My original report has the looks of a Word document, so I chose Rich Text.

Problem is that the computer re-calculates the report and ignores all of my
original layout. I have the same problem when using it in HTML.

I was wondering how it is that I can send EXACTLY what my original report
shows to the recipient's email address using Outlook.

Thank you all for every bit of information this forum has already given me.

Carlos:

To retain the exact look and feel of your report when e-mailed, you need to
output it as either a Snapshot format file (natively supported by Access,
but requiring a download of the snapshot viewer by the recipient) or to
print the report to a PDF file and then e-mail that. There are many cheap
and affordable PDF printer drivers out there. If you want to automate PDF
and mail sends, take a look at our PDF and Mail Library for Access.

I am having the same type of problem. I have a report that is in landscape
orientation. When I output the report to word in .rtf format, sometimes it
outputs in landscape, sometimes in portrait. The funny thing is that when I
look at the print set-up after the report outputs in portrait, it says
landscape. By switching the orientation to portrait then back to landscape,
it corrects the problem. This issue is very frustrating as I have tried to
force the orientation through code with no success.

If anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear them.

Thanks,

Tim
