Creating a new .pst file is NOT the same as creating a new mail profile.
As you suggest in your later post, upgrades often do not correctly migrate
your previous settings. Thus the request to create a new mail profile.
For future reference, to create a new mail profile, open Control Panel,
double click on the mail icon, select the profiles button and select new. A
new .pst file does nothing for your problem, except bring it to a second
.pst file.

|| asked:
||
||| Hi Milly. By "creating a new mail profile" do you mean a new e-mail
||| account
||| in Outlook? If so, I have done this. What happened is it showed in
||| the
||| status bar as downloading all the messages that were saved on the
||| server
||| from before (12 of them), and then again they did not appear in any
||| of my
||| mail folders.
|||
||| When I tried Send/Receive after that, none came in because Outlook
||| 'already
||| had them'... only it didn't.
|||
||| I (and the other users) have already tried creating a new PST file,
||| but that
||| too did not work. Any other ideas?
|||
||| Would be good to hear back from 'Mike' who originally reported this
||| in
||| October, to see if/how he fixed it. I wish people would follow-up
||| their
||| newsgroup threads!

||||
|||| My mum has the issue since upgrading from Office XP to Office Pro
|||| 2003.
|||| Basically the e-mails show as being received in the status bar, but
||| nothing
|||| appears in Inbox or any other folder. Have tried:
||||
|||| New PST
|||| View unread messages
|||| Find for all folders
|||| Control Panel>Mail to ensure correct PST
||||
|||| They're just not there! Any ideas? She's stuck without them.
||||
|||| Thanks in advance.
