E2004 crash at launch

Folks.

Any advice appreciated. Running E2004 11.2.4 on an Intel MacBook Pro
with 10.4.7 and the latest version of QuickTime.

Since moving to this Intel machine, after I have put the machine to
sleep a few times, and occasionally just after it has been up for a few
hours without having been put to sleep, on attempting to relaunch
E2004 I get to the main window which it attempts to draw but crashes.

The only way to get E2004 to launch is to restart the MacBook. A
log-out won't fix it.

Have tried trashing ~/Library/Caches/.com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
and ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache as per
suggestions at MacFixit, but no success.

This is a royal pain and I'm just on the edge of leaving Entourage to
go back to the mish-mash of iApps.

Any thoughts folks.

Well, just went on and sorted it out myself.

Was the Junk Mail module of E2004. Turned it off, went to SpamSieve,
and no more crashes.

But wait, there's more.
From MacFixit:

On numerous occasions we've covered an issue where Microsoft Office
(v.x and 2004) applications fail to properly launch on Intel-based
Macs.
It now appears that the presence of Apple's Motion 2.1, part of Final
Cut Studio 5.1, and other applications that use "split segment"
non-system libraries can cause these issues.
The solution, in these cases, is to update prebinding via the following
steps.
1. Log in as an administrator
2. Open the Terminal (located in Applications/Utilities)
3. Type: sudo update_prebinding -root / -force and press Return.
4. When prompted for a password, enter your admin password, and press
Return again. The process may take a few minutes, and you may see
various messages flash by. The process is complete when the Terminal
returns to a normal prompt.
5. Type exit and press Return.
6. Check for the capability to launch Microsoft Office applications.

This works for me every time now. Takes a minute of so to complete
but can always get back into E2004 now.
