each unique appointment appears every day and they are grouped

I do no select "recurring" when I schedule a new
appointment, yet every appointment I enter comes up in
every day, and I can not delete one without deleting all
of them (which I wouldn't even need to do if it just
showed up on the day for which I scheduled it).
Additionally, the time I enter for start and end times
comes up different.
Using Office XP Pro.
Any fixes?
