Mary,
While I am not sure about the Beta version, I had a
simliar problem. My original install of outlook did not
include the set up for the internet e-mail function. Hence
it was not an option (and therefore no POP or SMTP
settings could be made). This proved to be simply a
matter of going back to my Windows CD and installing the
missing components. After the internet e-mail option is
available, the setting proceeds as normal.
Perhaps Microsoft did not provide that function with the
Beta. If so, you might try installing from whatever
previous version you have. But, I would back up e-mail,
calendar, contacts, etc, before "experimenting" like
this. There is a good reason for calling it a Beta - you
never know what to expect!
