Easy question? How to organize data alphabetically or numerically?

I have what I hope is a very simple question. I have a large spreadsheet and
want to view the data by column order. For example, one of the fields is
cities and another is zip codes. I would like to be able to view the list so
cities are displayed in alphabetical order, or zip codes in numerical
order.

I assume this is both possible and easy, but haven't figured out how to do
it!

With one cell in your data range (or the entire range) selected, choose
Data/Sort... choose the appropriate column and header row choices, then
click OK.
