Easy Way to Delete Categories?

I have an add-in that created a new category as I was trying out a feature
(stupidly not understanding the result). This category appears on some 300
of my contacts as "not listed in Master Category list" . I know I can "add"
a category to selected group in the organize view -- is there any way I can
easily "delete" a category from a selected group? (Other than opening each
one and unchecking the new category?

Thanks anyway -- I figured this one out for myself. Selected group at a
time in categories view, right-clicked, categories, and unchecked the
offending category. Well, duh.
