Edit Issues in Spreadsheet

M

Mike

I understand this is a Sharepoint problem, but its releavnt to project
server functions.

I can intermittently edit/display issues in a spreadsheet. When I
can't, I get this message:

The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the
following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Windows
SharePoint Services is not installed, your browser does not support
ActiveX controls, or support for ActiveX controls is disabled

This has been discussed in a number of News groups and is generally
identified as users not having a correct Office professional
installation.

My specific symptoms:

Prior to installing Prof 2007 I could use this function (Monday)
After installing I could not (Tuesday)
Ran repair on Office installation, then successfully displayed lists
in spreadsheet (Wed)
Today it fails (Friday) - lots of changes to database but no server or
desktop changes.

any thoughts? - Only come in on Wednesdays

regards

Mike

Mike,

Check your browser setting for activeX controls. Located in IE:
Under here:
Tools/Internet Options/Security Tab
Make sure the url is a trusted one.
Then check custom level and scroll down to ActiveX controls and plug in and
ensutre they are enabled.

Hope it helps.

All enabled - clearly something has changed in my environment but it
is not obvious.

Thanks

Mike
