I have an Excel file with multiple worksheets, each worksheet contains a
chart or table, and a Word document which has these charts & tables inserted
into it with links back to the Excel file. I intended to set these up as
templates allowing the 2 files to be copied and pasted elsewhere to reuse.
The problem is, when I copy the files elsewhere and try to change the source
location of the charts to point to the new file location, instead of pulling
from the appropriate worksheet within the Excel file, the new Word document
just pulls the data from the 1st worksheet in the file for each and every
table/chart, so I get 30 copies of the same thing instead of 30 different
charts/tables. The worksheet names, location of the data, etc. is identical
(since I simply saved a copy of the original file in the new location). The
only change is the file location. Any ideas of how I can get the links to
update without having to re-insert the charts/tables from the new file
location?
