I am using an Access Data Base as the source of addresses
for a mail merge. In all but one of the data bases, I am
able to edit the entries in the list from within Word. I
was to do that in this DB until a couple of days ago. I
cannot find any open files and can edit it fine in
Access. Any ideas?? Thanks and Happy Holidays, Bob

Hi Scholb,

I take it this is Word 2002 or 2003? This seems to be a
problem as soon as the address list has been opened and
edited directly in Access instead of using the Word
interface. I don't know of any way to really "fix" a
database once this has occurred.

Possibly (I've never tested) you could use DAO or ADO to
move the data over into a newly created Address list data
base. (The hope is, if you've never opened it in the Access
interface, it will work; that an ADO or DAO Insert Into
query, for example, won't "break" it).
