Sorry if this question has been answered - I see similar questions, but not this exactly.

I understand that I need to use the FN key on my new iMac to have the F2 key function as Edit. That's fine.

What I don't understand is: I'm accustomed (on Excel in Windows) to have the referenced cells appear with a variety of colors - so I can easily see which cell locations are referenced in my formula. What is that feature called? How do I 'turn it on'?

Thank you

Nope, even fn+F2 won't trigger Edit in Cell in OS X unless you make some
changes to the OS assignments - it'll most likely increase screen brightness
otherwise. The Mac stroke to edit in a cell is Control+U:)

The color coding in formulas Is automatic & [AFAIK] there's no Preference
setting to turn that off. However, it's implemented a bit differently than
in PC XL: The color coding doesn't appear in the Formula bar and only
appears in the cell as you first write the formula or go back into Edit mode
by Control+U or double-clicking the cell.

Thank you Bob -
The Ctrl+U, and the double-clicking in the cell, are what I needed to know.
