Edit view of appointments (TimeCard)

I have installed TimeCard for Outlook v4 and want to change the way that my
appointments are shown in my Calendar. At present, the 'subject' line shows
when I view appointments (one day).

TimeCard has an option to automatically populate the Outlook 'subject' field
with the 'customer' and 'task' information, but as I want to export the
'subject' field into TimeCard, I'd rather be able to use that to enter data
regarding the appointment in that field.

I would like to use the TimeCard fields (customer, task) in the view,
instead of the Outook field (subject).

Also, is it possible to change the order of the tab fields so that it first
goes to the TimeCard 'customer' field, then the TimeCard 'task' field, then
the Outlook 'subject' field?

Outlook is limited in the fields it can use in a view, so no on the first
question. The tab order can be customized if you know how to edit and
publish forms.

Thanks Diane. What a shame! I've tried editing the form but not all the
fields show for some reason. I tried to save the standard appointment form
under a new name, but it wouldn't save.

Thanks anyway.

Hi Jeannnie and Diane

If I understand you correctly you want three things Jeannie:

1. Capture 3 fields for each appointment: Task, Customer and Subject-
Subject being a free text field
Customer and Task being chosen from a dropdown

A: That is exactly what TimeCard is intended to do :)


2. See your calendar in a one-day view with the Task and Customer
information

A: TimeCard allows you to see the Task and Customer information by
simply selecting each appointment. You can also create tabular view of
todays appointments that will look exactly like what you are
describing.
You can also use the color-coding features of Outlook to view the
Customer and Task information in a standard calendar view.

3. Change the standard appointment form so that it makes it easier for
you to enter the information in the appropriate tab order.

A: This is more complex but can certainly be done. If you are/become a
paying customer I would be happy to make a 10 minute video
demonstration on how to do this. You can of course also make an
editable grid view of your calendar to accomplish this.


Timecard may install their own forms which will complicate matters.
TimeCard for Outlook does not install its own custom form, but "only"
adds a custom toolbar with the extra properties that you want to use
for time reporting. That way an Outlook appointment item is still
compatible with other ways of using your calendar, such as OWA, PDA
synchronization and even other custom solutions.
