I have users asking me to see the project schedule line number for each task
in their "View my tasks" view under "Tasks".
Is this possible? Is this a developer question?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Strangely enough, on my system I can see the task ID number for each
timesheet assignment simply by adding the ID number field to the Timesheet
view. You might try this on your system to see if it populates the ID
numbers on each user's timesheet. If this does not work and no one can
actually see the task ID number values, then you will need to add the ID
(task) field to the list of published fields in ever project using Tools -
Customize - Published Fields, and you will also need to republish the
assignments for every project using Collaborate - Publish - Republish
Assignments.
