editable text on background?

I have my company outline frame as a background in visio. There are fields to
enter name, date, page-number, revision, drawing-nr.

I want a textfield, that is in the background, that the user can set in the
front-pages, that are created from the background.

Why is this not possible? This should be possible, maybe by a tag: Editable.

Since a background page can be the background of multiple pages (which can
be foreground or background pages), it is not a simple request .... I know
that =PAGENAME() does show the foreground Page name, but that is the
exception .... currently
I always put the title blocks on the foreground page - they don't have to be
selectable, as they can just display page properties. Most of my templates
have code to automatically add the title block whenever a new page is added

There is at least one except to this, and that would be the Page# shape on
the General-Title Blocks stencil. It may be placed on the background page,
but, it will show the correct page number for each foreground page, e.g., 3
of 17. Usually, that's the only item that needs to change.
