Edited movied into PP

I have spent hours to no avail so maybe someone out there can help.
I have been successful with inserting unedited digital movies into 2002 PP.
BTW all you have to to is to change the extension "avi" to "mpg". That is
what works for me.
Problem I download the clip to my computer, edit it with MovieMaker and then
the PP does not accept it. Now what? Am I looking for the "impossible dream"?

Stan,

When you edit your movie with movie maker - I'm guessing you are then
re-saving the video as a Window Movie file. Perhaps that's the problem?
