Editing a referenced mdb in the IDE?

Hi All,

In Access 2000, I've create a reference from one mdb ("main") to
another mdb. Working in the IDE in the main mdb, I am able to add code
to the referenced mdb. And the code runs. But the Save button on the
toolbar in the IDE is disabled, and if I close the main mdb, the
changes in the library are lost.

In Access 97, there was no proble with this. I haven't been able to
find any information on this for Access 2000 or 2002. Come someone shed
some light on this for me?

This is 'by design' apparently. I think that it is very unfortunate that no
warning is given that changes will not be saved. I just did a quick test,
and was disappointed to find that this situation has still not improved in
Access 2003. It would be nice if at least a warning was given, so that you
could copy and paste your changes to Notepad or whatever. Until/unless that
changes, though, I'm afraid we just have to keep this one in our list of
'gotchas' to watch out for.
