Editing a word document and changes not taking

HELP - I ahve edited the same document 3 times and when I go to print the
document, the changes disappear and the old version prints and shows in the
document.

Especially after the 1st time, I save the document every few minutes but
yet, again, the changes do not stay.

What can I do to fix this? I have gone to the MIS staff and they are as
perplexed as I am.

possible explanation: Track Changes is active in this document, and the
original view of the document w/o the changes is printed each time.
