Editing Colors & Customizing color pallette

I am trying to create a customized color palette that would only
contain the 10 or so colors I have choosen from an imported PNG file.
I am able to sample these colors with the eye dropper but cannot
figure out how to get these colors permenently in that palette as well
as deleting the pre-existing colors so that only my color choices
remain in the template. I'm doing this so that only company approved
colors are used in making charts & graphs and I can distribute this
template knowing I've made it as idiot proof as possible.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

First, XL will always have exactly 56 colors available, so instead of
deleting pre-existing colors, you'll need to set the excess to one or
more of the approved colors.

What application are you using "the eye dropper" in? When I use the eye
dropper tool in The Gimp (the only app I use for graphics), I get a
variety of color indexes, including RGB, HSB, and CMYK, in the color
picker dialog. I can then enter those values in the color slider tab in
the Colors dialog in XL.

In GraphicConverter, you can get the RGB info when you click on the
color if you display the position window (Picture>Show Position).
