Editing documents

When one of our people attempts to edit a document in Word or Excel (Project
Web Access, Edit in Microsoft office Word) a triangular message with a blue
boarder and red X appears. The box states “ ‘Edit’ Document requires a
Windows SharePoint Services-compatible application and Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.0â€. He cannot open the documents

He is using:
IE 6.029 XP-SP2
Word 2000 SP-3

This person is a resource in Microsoft Project Server, and has project
Manager privileges. He is attempting to open a Public Document.

Any ideas?

[TGG]

Windows Sharepoint Services requires Office 2003 for this function to work
correctly. There is limited functionality for OfficeXP but Office 2000 can't
do that function.

The work around is to save the document to the local hard drive, make
modification and upload the document.
