I can't imagine I'm alone in this situation, but I can't find any other posts that relate - so here goes.
Finance customers have hundreds and possibly thousands of documents which link to other documents and cells in their own share structure. All of these links are in the form of \\server\share\folder\folder\etc.
What happens when server or share name change? Are there any tools to scan these Excel files and make mass edit/replace to these links? Can we use relative links in the future, so that the next time the servers and naming convention is changed, we're not faced with another mass edit?
I did find some posts dicussing similar scenarios with PowerPoint, but I don't know enough VB (ok, I know *none*) to modify the referenced code to do the same thing for Excel.
Comments/Ideas/Questions?
Thanks in advance...
