Editing fields

I have a project server set up, resources assigned, groups configured,
projects published, etc, etc...

Regardless of what I do, nobody seems to be able to edit any fields. Under
published fields, %work and Remaining Work are not displayed. I've even
tried simply adding an editable text field (published) for grins and that
wont work.

Can anybody tell me why no fields are editable via the web?

Ultimately I would like to have our team publish their progress by updating
% Work - can ProjectServer be configured to do this?

Thank you,
Brett

What reporting method are you using? Check in PWA Admin>Customize Project
Web Access. Should look like this:

Specify the default method for reporting progress on tasks
Percent of work complete: Resources report the percent of work
complete, between 0 and 100%.
Actual work done and work remaining: Resources report the actual
work done and the work remaining to be done on each task.
Hours of work done per day or per week: Resources report the hours
worked on each task during each time period.

Lock down defaults
Allow project managers to change the default method for reporting
progress if a different method is appropriate for a specific project.
Force project managers to use the progress reporting method
specified above for all projects.

Have you published All Information from Project Professional? Are resources
going to their timesheet (Task tab in PWA) and seeing assignments? Are they
then going to the Timesheet link on the top left area of the screen to
change to form the Gantt view to their timesheet view?

If so, then they should be able to update % Complete and Remaining work on
the left hand side of the two grids.

Jonathan,
Thank you for your reply (this is incredibly frustrating). Here is what I
have:

Under "Specify the default method for reporting progress on tasks" I have
the following checked:
--> Percent of work complete: Resources report the percent of work
complete, between 0 and 100%.

Under "Lock down defaults" I have the following checked:
--> Allow project managers to change the default method for reporting
progress if a different method is appropriate for a specific project.
Have you published All Information from Project Professional?
YES. Repeatedly.
Are resources going to their timesheet (Task tab in PWA) and seeing assignments?

When resources try to do this it says "You do not have any tasks assigned to
you in any projects". But they are listed as resources in the currently
viewable/accessible project.
Are they then going to the Timesheet link on the top left area of the screen to
change to form the Gantt view to their timesheet view?

When resources try to do this it says "You do not have any tasks assigned to
you in any projects". But they are listed as resources in the currently
viewable/accessible project.
If so, then they should be able to update % Complete and Remaining work on
the left hand side of the two grids.
NO. This still does not work.

Please let me know what else I should be doing. Again - thank you for your
help.

As an administrator, can you go to Project Center and click on a project and
see the Project Details view? Check with one of the out of the box views
for projects that includes resource information.

Also, you can go to the Resource Center and click on View Assignments. Pick
a few resources which you know should have assignments and click Update.
See if you can see their assignments in PWA. If so then maybe there are
permission issues for Team Members against My Tasks category.

If not then check the View Drop folder on the server to see if there are
unprocessed files there. Also check the Application log to see if there are
any publishing errors? I am assuming you are not getting any spooler
errors. It wools show in the bottom icon tray as a flashing red exclamation
after you try to publish a plan.

Let me know what you find out.
