editing forms

Carol

i recently learned how to create a form. I now need to edit the form, but it
appears to be locked. Under Protected Document, i have originally selected
Unrestricted Access, which is still checked.

I have created the form in a table in 2007, but saved it in 2003 to send to
users who do not have 2007.

Any suggestions are welcome. thank you.

Click on Restrict Formatting and Editing and you will then see a button to
Unprotect the document.

I was able to fix the problem when I worked on the file at home because I use
2003, but I canno locate Restrict Formattting and Editing on my 2007 version
at work. Can you provide me with further assistance? Thanks.

Click the Protect Document button at the right end of the Review tab, and
you'll find the Restrict Formatting and Editing item on the dropdown menu.
That opens a task pane to the right of the document. There should be a "Stop
Protection" button at the bottom of the pane.

It's in the [Developer Tab] in the [Protect Document Group] - I assume your
developer tab is installed on the ribbon, but if it's not you'll have to turn
it on.

I do not know why MS made this so complicated. You have to tell people to
select "restrict formatting" in order to turn the restrictions off and now a
password dialog box pops up too.

For a basic form, all most people need is a button that says "enter data in
the form" (!!!) For pete's sake!
