Editing french text in Visio 2003 charts

Hi folks, Despite my best efforts and the use of help
files available online, I can't activate the french
(Canada) dictionary to enable the editing of french text.
I've enabled the language through the MS Office 2003
Language Settings but that did not activate the
software's ability to detect the different language (as
does Word). Tips anyone? Many thanks, JJ

Hi JJ

Are you using the French (Canada) input locale (keyboard) to enter the text? If you are, Visio 2003 should install the proofing tools on demand (if you didn't indicate to install them during setup)

Further, using the correct input locale will mark the text with the appropriate Language ID, which the spell checking functionality uses to determince which dictionaries to use

You can determine which language Visio thinks the text is in by examining the Language setting in the Format | Text dialog
