Editing Hyperlinks

When editing Hyperlinks in Publisher 2007 it takes about 25 - 30 seconds for
the dialog box to open to edit the hyperlink. This is not a problem on my
other versions of Publisher. Is this just an issue with 2007?

I cannot reproduce your issue. Does it only occur with one file, or all
files?

The hyperlink dialog opens just as quickly in Pub 2007 as it does in other
versions of Publisher on my machine. I can only guess at why you are
experiencing this delay. I would suspect some security feature in your AV
program, Vista, or perhaps your firewall. You might try running Office
Diagnostics under Help. Perhaps someone else will have more insight to
offer.

It seems to be only this one file. I created a new web and the links dialog
opens very quickly. Closed out and restarted program and still with the same
issue. Has to be something in the file itself. It is a large site with quite
a number of graphics and pictures but I can not see how that would affect the
program. All other dialogs seem to open fine just the hyperlinks (edit or
create new).

I will try that but most of the pictures are linked to the publication and
reside in a separte file to keep the main site as small as possible. Odd that
I can transfer the file over to another computer using Publisher 2003 and I
have no issues.

I don't think that linking your pictures make any difference in file size.
They still save with the publication...that is probably why you were able to
open it with Pub 2003 on a different computer. You are only using .jpg, .gif
or .png files correct?

You might also check with the video card manufacturer to see if there is an
updated driver available. Even if you just bought the computer, that doesn't
mean that there isn't an updated driver. I know, this also seems a stretch,
but I will stretch you one further...also check for updated printer drivers.
It is surprising what impact these drivers can have on seemingly unrelated
processes. I am just giving you the steps I would go through to troubleshoot
the issue. As I said, I cannot replicate your issue, nor has anyone else
posted about this issue to my knowledge since Pub 2007 came out.

Let us know if you figure it out. Thanks.
