Editing Keystrokes

The first arrow key that I hit after typing text in Word
causes "ding.wav" to sound. Is there a way to stop this,
short of disabling "ding.wav?"

Also, I like to use "Ctrl-" and the arrow keys together to
move the cursor across entire words. But every time I try
this in Word 2002, the first keystroke never works
correctly and instead performs just like a regular arrow
key (one character at a time), in addition to playing that
annoying "ding.wav." This was never a problem in Word
97. How can I fix this?

Thanks for any advice.
