Editing Live vs. Editing Local and Publishing

Just wondering if there any benefit to using FP locally and publishing a website versus logging
directly into the website and working on it live.

The benefit I can see to working on it locally is I can test things out from my PC prior to
publishing them live. Is there any other things to consider?

You'd have a complete copy on your local system in the event your host went
down or had other problems without having an up-to-the-minute backup of your
site.

Hmmm... if you make a change that breaks things and then back it up, you're
still hosed!

A cardinal rule for development is that you use separate machines. Best
scenario is a dev box, a staging box, and a production box. For most home
users of FrontPage, it is best to use a dev box (local copy of the Web site)
and a production box (live copy). Anything else is foolish in my opinion.
