Editing mail

Hi All,
I have a very odd behavior in one of my users outlook(2003 version).
Some emails, when I open them (DBL click from inbox) I can edit/delete the
content.
Most of his email behave normally AKA I cant edit them until I reply/forward
them.
I tried to disable the mail format that Word won't be the editor but it
didn't help.
When I reply the problematic mail to an Outlook 2007, I couldn't edit the
mail when I opened it.
Any thoughts?
Thanks a lot in advance

Typically, one should be able to edit them after clicking Edit>Edit Message

Right. After opening it, click the Edit menu and choose Edit Message.

Brian,
There is a misunderstanding here, The issue I rise is that without doin a
thing, I can edit a message. I know the Format>Edit function but I'm not
talking about it but to the fact that I can EDIT a message (which is not
normal) once I've opened it.
Any thouths?

I don't know why you keep saying "Format>Edit". There is no Edit item on
the Format menu of an open message window. There is, however, an Edit menu,
as I said.

Some message formats allow editing without having to select Edit>Edit
Message. HTML and Plain Text messages require you to click Edit>Edit
Message before you can change them. Rich Text messages, on the other hand,
do not and can be editied immediately after opening them.

OK Brian and sorry for my mistake.
Can I prevent from Rich text msg to be edit automatically?
Thanks again
