Editing narration timing with control bar

In custom animation when I'm playing through a narrated slide and try to use
the bar on the bottom to fast-forward to the point of editing, the bar
disappears! It appears that the bar and the "Seconds" button does not work.
Is there an update?

Are you referring to the advanced timeline?
You can show it by right clicking on any added effects, then select "Show
Advanced Timeline".
You can then use the advanced timeline to check through the timing and make
changes if needed. The advanced timeline is not for use in fast forwarding
when you are previewing the slide show using the play button.

Knowing that the control bar and "seconds" button is for the advanced
timeline is helpful. Thanks!

Is there any way for playing just one component of a slide in order to more
efficiently pair the narration with slide elements? For example, if I wanted
the 5th bulleted part of a slide to be matched with a narration, I can
generally know it should occur around, lets say, 45 seconds. I'd like to
jump to that part of the slide and play seconds 35-55 to adjust how it
sounds. Right now, it seems like I need to always play the slide from the
beginning which takes a lot of time.
