Editing non-FrontPage site with FrontPage

Don't know if this is even an "answerable" question, but I've been asked to
do temporary website administration for another website that was NOT created
with FrontPage. My only experience in website creation or maintenance is
FrontPage, and before I accept the position I need to know if there's a way
that FrontPage can "read" files created with another program like
Dreamweaver. Can I use FrontPage to edit a site that was created with another
program, or that was written directly with HTML? (I do not know how to write
HTML.) Thanks!

There's nothing to stop you using FP as a normal HTML editor.

So, yes, you can use FP to edit a non-FP site. The issue with "Frontpage
Sites" is the web-bot functions like the form processor, guest book, photo
gallery etc - all the "Wizard" type features along with a few others.

But otherwise, you can use FP to edit any HTML page, as that is what FP
produces anyway.

Just remember to "open the site" otherwise things might start going haywire,
in regards to when you insert images etc. Effectively you're making the
non-FP web a FP web even in the smallest degree.

Don't work with individual pages. You must open the web site first. A web
site is a group of folders and files that work together to form the site.

Open FP
File | Open Site (or Open Web - depending on which version of FP you have).

Thanks, Roib...I thought that's what Andrew meant, but wanted to be sure.
