Editing project custom fields for multiple projects

Is there a way or has anyone developed a solution that allows a user to edit
project custom fields for multiple projects within a single view. Our program
managers would like the ability to quickly edit project custom field data for
more than one project at a time using a view similar to Excel or a data grid
web part. I will also post this question in the developer group in case it is
more relevant there.

Thanks,
Gabriel

There is no default way to set this in Project Server 2007, so posting your
question in the Developer newsgroup is a wise action. Hope this helps.

Actually, this is semi-possible, and I say that because you can edit
project-level fields in a single view inside of Project, however not through
any of the PWA pages. Of course, you could develop a custom webpart for this
purpose. Here's how to it:

Make sure that the Project client is closed
In the Project Center select the header row for projects that you want to
edit using any standard multi-select technique
Click the Edit button on the toolbar
The system opens the projects in a temporary Master Project
Insert the custom fields you want to edit in the view, or apply a view which
already contains these fields
Make your edits to the multiple projects
Save changes to all files and check them in as you require
