editing repeated table headings

P

The repeat table headings feature is very useful....but

I need to edit the repeated headings without affecting the first heading in
a series.

(My company insists on having the abbrevation "(CONT)" appear in the
repeated headings)

Thanks

(I posted this once before, but cannot find it on the discussion group, so
I'm trying again)

Current versions of Word don't offer a built-in way to do this, but here's
something you can try. Add the Continued notice to the repeating heading.
Then, on the first page of the table, cover the "(CONT)" part with a text
box or AutoShape (no line, white fill) anchored to a paragraph in the first
ordinary table row (so it won't repeat).
