Editing scanned text

Bill

I have Office 2000 premium. In attempting to scan text
into Word, the text is scanned okay, but in an attempt to
cut and paste to a website, it fails. I also am unable to
edit. I know that it has to be something that I don't
understand, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you, Bill

What program are you pasting into (to create the website)? Does apsting
scanned text from other documents or other sources work?

Please respond in the same thread on this newsgroup. Make sure you
include details of your application and Windows versions, plus any
service pack updates.

Do not mail to me directly without invitation - you have a choice of
getting ignored or billed for my time. Most questions can be answered
by reading recent NG posts, checking the MVPS web FAQs or searching the
relevant Google archive e.g.

Mike, after reading your response, I realized that I did
not give, other valid information.
I am running WinXP Pro, using an HP PSC 500. When I was
running ME, and using the same all in one machine, I had
no problem with scanning and editing, and pasting text.
I know that HP doesn't support OCR for their machines any
more, but I was told to go into "Office", go to "insert",
go to "scanner", choose the scanner, and it would scan
the text, and I would be able to edit, paste, etc.
I have done all of that, and am unable to edit. I will
check the all that you have mentioned, and thank you.

Thanks for all the extra info, but I don't think it makes any difference to
this problem. Please get back to the newsgroup with answers to my original
questions and we'll see how we can go from there.
