Editing word documents from another computer on my home network

I have a desktop where I've stored documents in word and wish to edit them
from another laptop in my home network. I can go in and make changes using
the other unit, but cannot save the changes. I have tried copying them on a
jump drive working on them and putting them back on main unit but that
dosen't work either. Any help would be appreciated.

This has nothing to do with Word per se. It seems that you have your home
network setup to not allow write access. Either use the shared file location
Windows provides or enable the folder property to share files AND allow
other users on the network to change your files.
