Editor Config settings won't stick

Frontpage 2000, Windows XP.

I need to edit JSP files.

In the configure editors dialog I have added .jsp and set its editor
to FrontPage - and it works. However, close Front page down and it
"forgets" the existence of JSP files.

Next time I open the program and edit a JSP file FrontPage tries to
save it in a temporary folder. Each time, I have to go through the
hassle of reconfiguring editors again.

What is this all about? I'm sure the installation on my previous
computer (Win2000) didn't do this.

TIA for any help.

Did you set FP to open the jsp pages as Html and make it the Default?

Did you set FP to open the jsp pages as Html and make it the Default?

No, because it wasn't offering me that as an option. The only option
in the dialog is the checkbox for "Open web pages in the Office
application that created them", which I've tried both checking and
leaving unchecked and which seems to make no difference in this case.
It is checked at the moment. I assume FP is an Office application. I
would rather tear out my own spleen with my bare hands than allow Word
to create a HTML page for me.

More strangely, though, I opened FrontPage a moment or two ago and
this time it *remembered* that it was allowed to open and edit .JSP
pages. This change in behaviour occurred between about 10:00am and
11:30 and I did nothing in between.

So, it looks like problem solved, until it stops being solved again.
Don't you just hate it when this stuff happens?
