I'm trying to link an excel spreadsheet to a project file using
EditPasteSpecial link.
Does anyone have an experience to share.

Hi,

This works fine. Be aware that the technology used is fragile, so once you
have a link, don't move, over-write or rename either file without first
breaking the link and saving BOTH files. Corruption of one or both is
possible if you do.

I prefer macros to read data from different files as it offers more
functionality and much better reliability.

Dave,
Having been there and done that, I agree with Rod's assessment 100% and
his explanation about carefully saving BOTH files is VERY important if
you want to stave off corruption. As I said, I've been there and done
that.

Let me be the third person to warn against this approach.
It is fragile. Eventually it will give you a problem.
Feel lucky?

Hi All,

thanks for the reply and advise.

I thought perhaps using a Sharepoint type lists would have promoted a
stabler environment.
