EditSite Question

B

Brian

On March 30, I posted a question in which when I publish all (or any)
information in a certain plan (not all plans) on MS Project Server 2003, I
get the following error:

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server] Arithmetic Overflow error
converting float to data type numeric

The suggested course of action was to run the EditSite utility to see if I
get any errors. We ran that utility and got no errors. I'm not very
accustomed to the DBA side of the house, so is there anything else that I
could try? Is there a way to see which table and field this error pertains
to?

Thanks!
Brian

Thank you for the reply. I'm needing to know which tables in the database
are updated when a Project Manager updates the plans from the Updates page.
Do you know which tables those are?

Thanks!

Brian:

If this happening for only one plan, then it indicates some corruption may
be present. Let's try some basic project therapy before you start digging
into unfamiliar ground.

Backup your database
Save the trouble project as an XML file using Save As
Next delete the project from the server from Web Access Admin > Cleanup
Project Server database
In Project, use Tools > Enterprise Options > Import Project to Enterprise to
bring the plan back to the server
Now follow the instruction at the link below to remove the file bloat
introduced with the XML save

Use republish and select overwrite actual work to push the data back to the
web views and timesheets. Note that you'll need to turn off managed time
periods if you're using them before you can do this step.

Let us know how this works.
