How can I effectively manage resource allocation and levelling within
Project Server 2007.

Your question is a good one, but much too broad for this newsgroup. The
best I can offer you is some tips for avoiding making overallocations when
you are assigning resources in Project Professional 2007. The system offers
you several methods to accomplish this, including the following:

(1) In the Assign Resources dialog of Project Professional 2007, select the
desired resource and click the Graphs button. Click the Select Graph pick
list and select the Remaining Availability graph. This graph shows you the
resource's Remaining Availability across all projects in the portfolio.
Scroll to the time period required for the task and determine the resource’s
availability during that time period.

(2) In Project Professional 2007, click View - Resource Usage. Right-click
in the timephased grid (yellow/white timesheet) and select the Remaining
Availability details from the shortcut menu. Examine the resource's assigned
Work and Remaining Availability across all projects in the portfolio. Scroll
to the time period required for the task and determine the resource’s
availability during that time period.

(3) Log into Project Web Access and navigate to the Resource Center page.
Select the resource in question and then click the View Availability button.
Click the Choose a View pick list and select the Remaining Availability
view. Scroll to the time period required for the task and examine the
resource’s Remaining Availability during that time period. If necessary,
expand the Details section at the bottom of the page and study the project
work assigned to the resource.

I will gladly invite others in this group to share their own ideas for you.
Hope this helps.

Hello guys,

Thanks for the insight, I had thought about the process Dale outlined, but
wasn't so sure he could help a long way. I knew the question was quite broad.

Isn't it time you guys author a book on Project Management.?

Thanks guys.
