electronic timesheets and PWA

Hi all
We have a standalone electronic timesheet system in this
organisation. I've been recruited to bring about a little order and
structure to the project management and I was keen to use Project
Server mainly for the Issue Log/Risk Register and Enterprise Resource
Pool functionality. Obviously people are not best pleased with the
idea of dual entry of their hours so using PWA to track their time is
going to be tricky!
Please can anyone offer an opinion about how I might go about
reconciling this?! I think we should be tracking resource time using
Project in some shape otherwise how can we see what's slipping etc?
Is it possible to take an export from Project, or from our Timesheet
system to share data between the two systems?

Thanks v much!

Lynne, I think you need to keep in mind that EPM is not a time sheet
system, it's a project planning tool. The PWA time sheets are just a
means to this end.
From what you write, I'd first do a requirements analysis to find out
what your customer needs, instead of what you think they should be
doing. An EPM implementation is a major change management process
which requires full executive support as well as broad buy-in from
prospective users.

In my experience, if you want to improve project management you need
to start with the project managers.

Thanks for your advice. It would seem that there are no project
managers here either!
